News Bits: 11/1/10 Edition

New month! How was everyone’s Halloween? Anyone party it up? ‘Caaaaaaause I sure didn’t!

But I got lotsa candy. So take that!

Anyways – more candy – Jang Geun Suk sings! Actually – we all knew that already, especially if you watched You’re Beautiful or “Doremifasolatido.” But now he’s singing for the Mary Stayed Out All Night OST and I have to say, I don’t like it. I bet it’s going to be one of those songs I don’t like but will grow on me as it keeps playing. Maybe. “We Will Comeback” from I Am Legend was like that, but when I found out the lyrics I was like, “Hey! That’s not too bad!”

MV/Trailer of Mary Stayed Out All Night

I wasn’t really thinking of watching this drama. I also notice that I say this a lot, and something always changes my mind about it – only that once the drama starts airing, I don’t keep up with it. So I’m not going to say that I will watch this drama – even though it’s Jang Geun Suk and Kim Jae Wook. However – I definitely like the vibe I’m getting from the music video.

News Bits: 10/11/10 Edition

Aw – yesterday I should have done a news bit post, because then I could have said 10/10/10!!! Anyways – for the Taiwanese out there, Happy 10/10!

So I will start with some Chinese pop news – Charlene Choi – aka Ah Sa – just admitted that she is in a new relationship – with Hong Kong singer William Chan (whom, if I may say, is waaaaaaaaay cuter than her ex-husband Ronald Cheng. Just sayin’). The two have known each other for seven years, having first met on the set of a Twins music video. Though she’s admitted to the relationship – and allowed photos to be taken of them together, Charlene still seems to be a bit shy about being too open about her new relationship. Both of them have had a past (he’s dated a model called Angelababy – really? That’s her name?) but now they claim to be in a stable relationship.

I guess Charlene is trying something new – she tried having a relationship, and marriage, that was completely under wraps. This time, she’s being more open and relaxed about it. Let’s see if this method will work for her.

First Stills of Mary Stayed Out All Night

Oooh – so Moon Geun Young changed her hairstyle – and her clothing style – and is juxtaposed with the sleek (and smiling!) Kim Jae Wook. Can I say “YUM?”

I love love love Jang Geun Suk, but I don’t know if I’m going to watch this drama as of yet. I still can’t get the image of a surly, stone-faced Moon out of my head just yet. She’s the one reason I may not watch this show.

UPDATE: Turns out – it’s all for the poster! Although I prefer the fan made ones, seen here.

News Bits: 9/20/10 Edition

It’s late, I know. But I have good reason: my two favorite American TV shows, House and Chuck have returned! And boy is it awesome! They’re definitely going to rival the upcoming Korean dramas for the rest of the year.

But on to the news. Two new casting announcements have been made. The big one is Kim Jae Wook joining the drama Mary Stayed Out All Night. He will complete the love triangle with Jang Geun Suk and Moon Geun Young. Kim’s character is the perfect chaebol who was betrothed to Moon at a young age. But when she meets Jang, everything becomes more complicated. Woo! Giving him serious chaebol roles now after his turn in Bad Guy huh?

And Oh Ji Ho will cameo in the first episode of Runaway Plan B. He plays Rain’s best friend who asks him to get started on the hunt for the secret treasure.

News Bits: 9/13/10 Edition

Aw man. Nothing against the girl, but Moon Geun Young has been cast opposite of Jang Geun Suk in the upcoming drama Mary Stayed Out All Night. She will play the girl caught in the middle between Jang’s musician character and a chaebol. I had heard rumors that she would be cast, but I was seriously hoping she wouldn’t be the one. Not that I was hoping for Park Shin Hye, but I hadn’t expected Moon.

Then again, it might be a good thing that she’s the “unexpected” pick (for me) because this is her opportunity to show her range. She’s mostly done melodramas for Korean dramas, so this is time for her to exercise whatever rom-com chops she’s got.

Cyrano Agency Premieres!

“Cyrano Agency” held its premiere today in Seoul, and the stars showed up on the red carpet. And guess who was there too!? Yep! Jang Geun Suk!

The four leads also released two singles from the OST. Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Jung sang a light ballad titled “It Was You,” while Daniel Choi and Uhm Tae Woong sang a more upbeat song titled “I Went to Cheonggyesan Mountain.” You can check out their singles here, and the MV’s below after the jump. The men’s song is waaaay better too.

With cameo appearances from Park Shin Hye and UEE to start, and news that Jang Geun Suk‘s schedule is freeing up for a new drama, rumors are hitting full force that the entire A.N.Jell band will cameo in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho! I want to refrain from saying it’s confirmed (even though some news sources are reporting it as so) because they still have to work out the schedules of all the band members, plus the news is making me so happy and giddy with glee that I would be crushed if it ended up not going through. It would be the BEST THING EVAAAA if it could happen. 😀

If it just ends up being Park Shin Hye and Jang Geun Suk – that would be cool too – as long as the two of them are together as a coupling and Tae Kyung gets jealous when Lee Seung Gi is affectionate towards Park, or if Go Mi Nam is jealous that Lee Seung Gi is overly affectionate with Shin Min Ah – because then:

Mi Nam: Hyung-nim! Why aren’t you like that with me!?

Tae Kyung: What are you talking about? You should be grateful I let you be my number one fan before anyone else!

News Bits: 8/23/10 Edition

Lots of news over this past weekend!

First of all – I Am Legend just may get a musical version! While it’s still unconfirmed on whether it will happen or not, the musical version would work sort of like “Mamma Mia,” where the music will form the basis for the story. It’s possible that they will take the drama’s story and shorten it (I would prefer that), or to take the songs and the characters, but change the story.

Photo Shoot Galore

Photo spam! Featuring Lee Jung Jae (Triple), Jang Geun Suk (You’re Beautiful), and Park Jin Hee (Woman Who Still Wants to Marry).

All of them are showing a different side of themselves. Lee Jung Jae shows off his adorkable side (which by the way reminds me… he’s a bachelor still?!); Jang Geun Suk shows off his non-existent abs and his ability to look like a girl, and Park Jin Hee rawrs.
