Secret Garden Frenzy Just Won’t Die

Gahhhh! It’s so crazy! Not that I’m complaining about the frenzy because I do love the series. I just don’t love it THAAAAAT much, and I DO want to try and move on. If I go through that funky phase that I did with You’re Beautiful, then it means that I wouldn’t be able to move on for another three months. And that’s just too long.

Aside from the special episode (which was awesome solely for Yoon Sang Hyun and finding out which scenes the actors were really sleeping in), the production team has announced that they will be holding two more special episodes on Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year falls on February 3rd this year, and the special episodes will air on February 4. It will be the “Secret Garden Special Edition,” which, if it’s another special like the Secret Garden Special, I’m gonna bust some karate chops on the team – I don’t care if Hyun Bin is going to the military, I will beat him down first.

News Bits: 1/22/11 Edition

Kim So Yeon was awarded the “Special Prize of Asia” at the Asia Model Awards (today, or yesterday in Korea time). She received it for her work in IRIS, Prosecutor Princess, and Dr. Champ – and because she worked so hard almost consecutively, she was able to increase her popularity and become part of Hallyu. SHINee was also present, and they won the “BBF Popular Singer Award.” The event is mainly a place where models from Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Philippines could gather together and represent their respective countries.

The Short Hair Phenomenon

I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not (although I’m not sure how you can’t notice,) but there’s been a crazy short hair phenomenon that I’m not sure is the trend for 2011 dramas or what.

The whole Short Hair Wave is not new – celebs have all been turning to short hair for that new “fresh” look because it’s the easiest way to have a makeover without plastic surgery. Har har. But lately, I’ve noticed that a lot of Korean actresses have been sporting short hair for their roles. It’s not new, but it’s more apparent now that a lot of those pixie-haired actresses are in back-to-back dramas.

Greetings from the Secret Garden

Secret Garden cast members Ha Ji Won, Hyun Bin, Philip Lee, Yoo In Na, and the PD all signed on a comment book to greet viewers and fans at DC Gallery Merry Christmas. Their thirteenth episode aired on Christmas Day with 24-25% viewership. Pretty impressive!

I wish there were a Yoon Sang Hyun one…but oh well…

I don’t care if you believe in Santa Claus or not – but CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER!

There isn’t much that Harry Potter has to do with Christmas, but there is a reason why I put Harry Potter up there – “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1” opened this past weekend in South Korea and soared to the top of the box office list, beating Lee Seon Gyun and Choi Kang Hee‘s “My Petty Love Affair” (which climbed from third place to second place), and Gong Yoo‘s “Finding Mr. Destiny.” Though I feel a teensy bit sad that Gong Yoo is at third place, the keyword is teensy.

I’m a fan. In case my recap wasn’t proof enough.

Secret Garden: Episode 7 – Live Recap

If you’ve never seen my live recaps before, here’s an example of how I do it. I do not summarize the scenes too much – but rather put in my reactions. It’s meant to be more discussive – so sound off on your reactions as well! (The times listed are approximate.) I don’t want to do a full recap – I’ll leave that to javabeans and girlfriday.

Ok – here is my naming situation for the body switch:

Joo-Im is Joo Won in Ra Im’s body

Ra-Won is Ra Im in Joo Won’s body.

Easy enough?
