Sense8 is a Netflix original series by Andy and Lana Wachowski that follows eight gifted people with the ability to sense each other’s emotions and feelings, and experience moments in their lives. It premiered on Netflix a couple of weeks ago, and, with the few online teasers I saw, I only tuned in because it starred Bae Doona. I can’t help but be curious to see her acting in an English-speaking role.
[The following review will have spoilers, so be forewarned!]
The actor who portrayed an over-the-top Hallyu star (before Cha Seung Won, natch) is the “big Hallyu star” to costar alongsideChoi Ji Woo in her upcoming drama Can’t Lose. He will play her lawyer husband who becomes her ex-husband.
Whoa! I don’t know if I’m happy about this or not. I personally love Yoon when he’s being over the top but in a comic way. I don’t think that’s the tone this drama is going for, but wouldn’t it be funny to see Choi Ji Woo act more carefree and loose – kind of like how she is in 2 Days 1 Night? I mean, that would make this lawyer-divorce drama a little more fun to watch.
Well well now. When one couple ends, another blossoms! Goo Hara (from girl group KARA and currently in City Hunter) and BEAST’s Yong Joon Hyung are officially dating. (The guys have similar names too…) Photos of the two revealed them holding hands, and so their agencies released a statement confirming their coupledom. Congratulations to the two! It’ll be young puppy love. I don’t think it’ll last, but it’s nice to see these overworked pop idols take some time to be “normal” and date.
Prosecutor Princess also released it’s Director’s Cut DVD! It’s a pretty package with plenty of goodies (all thanks to fervent fans who insisted on getting a few more hours with their precious Kim So Yeon and Park Shi Hoo). I didn’t get one, as I had blown all my money on a You’re Beautiful DVD set, but boy am I jealous… I would love some more Park Shi Hoo. The extras include behind the scenes, NG’s, cast and crew interviews, and other stuff – but it’s not subtitled. Only the drama is subtitled. (Time to brush up your Korean!) Unlike You’re Beautiful, it seems that you can still order this special edition DVD (whereas the former had to be ordered by a certain time period).
I rarely pay attention to weekend dramas – and the upcoming Gloria starring Bae Doo Na, Seo Ji Suk, and Lee Chun Hee definitely wasn’t on my radar.
They held a press conference today for their drama, which begins airing this weekend. The following is an excerpt of that press conference. Those present also included director Kim Min Sik,writer Jung Ji Woo, Oh Hyun Kyung, So Yi Hyun, and Lee Jong Won.
It sounds like a meaty drama, and I’m not entirely sure based on this press conference what the romantic love lines are. Usually I’d say it’s a Seo Ji Suk-Bae Doo Na-Lee Chun Hee triangle, but since this drama is also 50 episodes long, there might be two love triangles. Lee Jong Won said that he gets involved in a different love triangle with Seo Ji Suk and So Yi Hyun’s characters too.
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho has released their first posters! They’ve already commenced their filming, and updates can be seen through Lee Seung Gi‘s Twitter account (twitter.com/chadaewoong). The account username belongs to Lee’s character in the drama. The posters are amazing. The first one shows them being quite slick – and I love the whole 1930s-feel to their costumes. But the second photo shows them in more of their every day interaction, and if Lee really snagged a girl who looked like Shin Min Ah, I’d be congratulating him too – even if she were a gumiho! 😀
Anyways – I’m super glad it’s Shin Min Ah – she’s so much more suited for the role.
