It’s a new year, and a new awards season! Okay, I have to admit I haven’t really been following the Academy Awards/Golden Globes/SAG awards in the States, though I hear about snubs and lucky nominees. (The Lego Movie – how could thou be snubt!?) In any case, it’s a busy time for dramas too! And I’m happy to say that I’m attending the DramaFever Awards again!
I’ve even got a dress!
The awards this year should be infinitely better than last year’s, as it’s taking place in Hudson Theater. A real theater! Read more on last year’s event here.
There’s going to be a VIP cocktail reception and a huge amount of stars attending: Arden Cho (Teen Wolf) and George Hu (Love Now, Prince of Lan Ling) will be hosting the event. 5urprise with Lee Tae Hwan and Seo Kang Joon will be PERFORMING (K-pop boys onstage! *swoon*), and special guests Yuki Furukawa (Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo) and Kim! Jong! Kook! (Running Man) will be in attendance! Oh man I can’t wait to see Kim Jong Kook. And Arden Cho was a lovely and fantastic host last year and I can’t wait to see her again this year. Maybe she’ll remember me!
I’m also really excited for the show this time around because I’m hoping for more of a show rather than a presentation of awards with a fan meet attached to the end. (*cough* Park Shin Hye *cough*) DramaFever has even expanded the category list to include Best Chinese Language Drama, Best Japanese Drama, Best Movie, Fan Favorite, Rising Star, and Camry Boldest Moment. (Clearly, Toyota is a sponsor. Clearly.) Hopefully that means more dramas can win instead of Heirs sweeping the awards for 2013. It helps that the awards are earlier this time around as a lot of 2014 shows are still fresh in people’s memories rather than having it sometime around May.
The awards show will take place on February 5, 2015. Tickets are nearly sold out so grab them now here! Stay tuned, I will be posting pictures next week from the event!
