Kim Myung Min is on a roll. Just days after it was announced he would be starring in “Pandora” with Kim Nam Gil, he’s now considering a role in another film that will be produced by Contents K, which is part of Bae Yong Joon‘s entertainment company Key East.
The film is called “Letters from Prison,” and follows a man who is unfairly held in prison and plans his revenge. Director Kwon Jong Kwan of “Sad Movie” and “S Diary” is set to direct this film. The film is set to begin shooting in the early half of next year once it has its main cast in place, most likely right after “Pandora.” If Kim takes on the role, audiences will see a lot of him on the big screens next year.”Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island,” the sequel to “Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow,” is set to release in February. Then he will definitely appear in “Pandora” as the president of South Korea, and that film will most likely be released later in 2015. And now this…
It would be interesting to watch him in three completely different roles, and in three completely different movie genres. From a comedic detective in a historical, to an upstanding president in an action disaster flick, to an unfairly imprisoned man in a melodrama, I can think of no other actor who could smoothly transition between the roles. It would be really cool if he took on this film as well, though I think it also suggests he won’t take on a drama in the first half of 2015.
Or he could and be quite the workaholic.
