News Bits: 6/21/11 Edition

I can always trust After School to give me that next song that I’ll get addicted to for a while. They did it with “Shampoo” and now UEE has released her solo track “쏙쏙쏙 (Sok Sok Sok).” It’s perfect for summer – light and airy, melodic beats, and the lyrics are about a girl who wishes to confess to a boy. I’ll put aside my cynical mature side for a moment to sigh and wish I could do that too like a dreamy, bright-eyed teenager! (‘Cause honestly, I’d never do that now – but as a teen? I probably would have.)

The song also features a rap by After School Boys’ member Jonghyun. It will be used in advertisements for the golf brand that UEE is a model for.

  • Park Ha Sun has been cast for High Kick 3. The actress last appeared as Queen In Hyeon in Dong Yi, but there is no word yet on her character this time around. Other stars that are looking to join the cast are Yoon Kye Sang and Krystal from f(x). That’s interesting – I feel like the stars this time around are more established. They’re not complete noobs like Jung Il Woo and Kim Hye Sung were. Those two boys were more green to the acting biz and became big. Park, Yoon, and Krystal are already big. Anyways – I wonder what Lee Soon Jae is going to be, if he comes back – a grumpy farting grandpa again?
  • Check! It! Out! Kim Sun Ah ain’t so frumpy anymore! Immediately after Lee Dong Wook was discharged from the army on the 20th, he immediately went straight to filming the drama Scent of a Woman. (Poor guy – I hope he got to shower at least for some relaxation!) At least he was given a cake in congratulations! He and Kim Sun Ah went to make the posters for their new drama and boy does it look hot! I mean, I don’t get it at all (as in, it gives no real clue about the drama) but Kim looks like one smokin’ cougar next to Lee (who unsettlingly resembles Hyun Bin in Secret Garden).
  • Word on the street is that Uhm Tae Woong will reunite with his Resurrection costar Han Ji Min (Cain and Abel, Capital Scandal) in a film titled “빠담 빠담” (I have no idea what that translates too – sorry.) It hasn’t been confirmed yet, as both have busy schedules and Uhm has that film “Neverending Story” and 2 Days 1 Night. However, there seems to be some buzz around it, which makes me wonder: Were the two a sizzling couple in Resurrection? They were both in Wolf as well, with Eric Mun, but it looks like they really had a romance in Resurrection…
  • On the other end of the spectrum, Kim Ha Neul shows off her tiny waist in a pictorial for Vogue. Apparently she and Tae Woong were teased during their stint in 2 Days 1 Night together. So what, Kim Haneul ain’t good enough for you, eh Uhm Tae Woong-ssi? The lucky lady will star opposite Jang Geun Suk in the film “You’re My Pet.”

  • And Son Ye Jin became the model for the jewelry brand Piaget. Adorned on all her fingers and wrists, Son strikes seductive, mysterious poses that all look alike, and make me think she’s channeling Lee Da Hae from Miss Ripley.

  1. O wow Son Ye Jin does look really different there…and LDW defintiely looks like he showered, which is good…but what is with that wig on his head…granted they were going to give him one anyway but I’m not particularly liking this curly/fro one

  2. i dunno, something about that poster disturbs me. i think someone went a bit too photoshop-happy on kim sun ah, i had to do a double take to make sure it was her.

  3. Uhm Tae Wong and Han Ji Min didn’t have much chemistry in Resurrection as far as I’m concerned but then again HJM is not an actor I really like anyway.

  4. I wouldn’t say Han Ji Min and Uhm Tae Woong were “smoking” in Resurrection but they had a really cute chemistry. His character always did this little thing where he ran his finger down the bridge to the tip of her nose in a little curve. Anyways, yeah they worked well together IMHO. Would rather see them in a drama than a movie but I takes what I can get. Hopefully her acting has slightly improved since then too.
