T-ARA’s Eunjung is joining We Got Married! (To replace the leaving Jung Yong Hwa and Seo Hyun.) She’s going to be paired up with actor Lee Jang Woo, who currently stars in the drama Smile Donghae. He’s also the cousin of Hwanhee, who made his WGM appearance with singer Hwayobi. They shot their first scenes together today (March 30), and they will appear in the April episodes.
- Singer Navi made a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” That song really lives on in so many places huh? I didn’t like the song when it first came out – especially Gaga’s version – because it sounded too much like a mish-mash of a bunch of classic songs from Madonna and TLC. But anyways – Navi’s cover is a slower version, and reminds me of Maria Aragon‘s version. Which do you like better?
- It’s that time of the year again! It is JIFF – Jeonju International Film Festival – and just one year ago I remember writing about how Park Shin Hye and Song Joong Ki were going to be the ambassadors for the festival. Sigh* – time really flies… It’s now the time to pass the torch…to Jung Il Woo and Kim So Eun. For me, I felt like the festival chose a ‘presently popular star’ and a ‘will-be popular star’ as their ambassadors. Back in early 2010, Park Shin Hye was riding off the You’re Beautiful wave and Song Joong Ki became famous in the latter part of the year with Sungkyunkwan Scandal. (Not that he wasn’t famous before, but he really exploded with Scandal). Then, Jung Il Woo is popular for his role in 49 Days…so does this mean Kim So Eun will have her big breakout year later in 2011?
- Maids is discussing whether they will change their title or not. They’ve received complaints from the national organization of housekeeping workers that the name ‘maids’ sounds too demeaning and isn’t politically correct. Unfortunately, I despise all the other possible titles that they’ve come up with: Elegant World, Grand Women, Secret of 1st Street, The Ladies’ Teatime, House Queen, and Suspicious Women. What the hell is this? Is it about the maids or the chaebol women who hire the maids?! And none of them are as catchy as “Upstairs, Downstairs” (the BBC television series about servants and masters). I say keep it – Sungkyunkwan University didn’t get any negative press with Sungkyunkwan Scandal.
- And finally…my queen…
