FIVE DAYS TO CHRISTMAS!

I don’t care if you believe in Santa Claus or not – but CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER!

There isn’t much that Harry Potter has to do with Christmas, but there is a reason why I put Harry Potter up there – “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1” opened this past weekend in South Korea and soared to the top of the box office list, beating Lee Seon Gyun and Choi Kang Hee‘s “My Petty Love Affair” (which climbed from third place to second place), and Gong Yoo‘s “Finding Mr. Destiny.” Though I feel a teensy bit sad that Gong Yoo is at third place, the keyword is teensy.

I’m a fan. In case my recap wasn’t proof enough.

The Chinese remake to Autumn in My Heart released a music video to its ending theme song – the song is slow, and easily puts me to sleep, but very reminiscent of the original Korean drama. This version stars Meteor Shower‘s Zhang Han, newcomer Jiang Kaitong, and honorary Korean Dennis Oh. I say honorary because I feel like the remakes always include a Korean actor – or half-Korean. For example, All About Eve had Jang Hyuk. The song is sung by Li Wei, who won the Super Boys singing competition.

“The Love of Pygmalion” – a drama series that was made exclusively for mobiles and starred Kim Joon, Minamisawa Nao, and Kim Jae Wook – was given the grand prize award under the digital content category during the 2010 Korea Contents Awards, hosted by KOCCA in Seoul. KOCCA is the Korea Creative Content Agency.

On a similar note, DramaFever has been awarded the 2010 Best Business Award by KOCCA in a ceremony held in LA for the 2010 DARI Awards. The DARI Awards celebrates businesses and individuals who have made contributions in promoting Korean culture. KOCCA sure has a lot of awards to give out. Does it have any for Road No. 1? ‘Cause all I remember about that drama is how it started off with a mini disclaimer saying that the content was approved by KOCCA – or something like that.

Ha Ji Won!! Her new film “Sector 7” is not coming out until summer 2011, but the 3D/CGI film has already released a teaser poster. Of course, there’s also Ahn Sung Ki and Oh Ji Ho starring in the film. But… Ha Ji Won!!!

  1. “FIVE DAYS TO CHRISTMAS!

I don’t care if you believe in Santa Claus or not – but CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER!”

LOL, shouldn’t it be “I don’t care if you believe in Jesus or not?”. Hahahahahaha, I found it hilarious, sorry. It’s amazing how consumism has made us forget about the festivity’s roots 😛

(Yeah, I’m taking it as a christian festivity, because that’s how it’s widely known nowadays. Please, purists, don’t come with your “Christmas was invented to take over pagans’ festivities” if you don’t want to see me losing my mind)

    Either way, Christmas yaaayayyyyayayayayayayayyyyyy!!!!

  2. @D – that should be the sub-title for the second film: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Battle of Hogwarts

    😛

@aberdeen_angus – HAHAHA – i think it’s ’cause i’ve seen too much santa claus’ around on TV and on the streets that all i can think about is santa claus. and though i’m religious – i gotta admit, i do fall asleep at church a lot. 😛
