News Bits: 12/1/10 Edition

I don’t have much to say – save for the fact that I just wanted to do a 12/1/10 Edition of “News Bits” because, well, it’s December! 24 days to Christmas, 30 days to 2011. Let the countdown begin!

Oh, and most importantly, 12 days to ATHENA!

During an appearance for MBC’s Radio Star Jiyeon of T-ARA flubbed on a question about whether she thought she was pretty after having plastic surgery. She said “I didn’t do surg…No, I don’t know.” Apparently this little slip-up has got people talking about how she accidentally admitted to having surgery. Her fellow member Hyomin said, “I think I looked better before”; that statement has a stronger implication of her having had plastic surgery, compared to Jiyeon. Come on gals – stop denying that you didn’t have surgery. Not everyone is stupid. Or, well, maybe I’m just more cynical than most.

Bae Yong Joon has been confirmed for a cameo in his joint drama project with JYP Dream High. He will play Jung Ha Myung, the director of the performing arts school, and will appear in the first four episodes. Old man is back in action!

Park Chan Ok, the director of the film “Paju” (which I saw at the Tribeca Film Festival), won an award at the 4th Annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards held in Australia. Her award, Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema, has quite the unwieldy name. It’s not the first accolade heaped upon the film, as it has the distinction of winning the same award (NETPAC) at the 14th Pusan International Film Festival, the Special Jury Prize at the 13th Deauville Asian Film Festival, and being the first Korean film to open the International Film Festival at Rotterdam.

I feel like 8 times out of 10, when I talk about Gong Yoo, it’s because he’s going to Japan for a fan meeting or for some event, even though that’s not entirely true. But anyways, he’s back in Japan again! He’ll be going to Osaka and Yokohama on December 3 and 5 respectively for a meet and greet. Of course that means he’ll be singing – eight new songs as a matter of fact, and three of them in Japanese. One of those songs will be his single from his new movie “Finding Mr. Destiny.”

Below is a spoiler photo of Secret Garden – another one, and I’m sure of no surprise to big fans of the drama. I am so looking forward to this scene. (Three days to a new episode of Secret Garden!) Do not scroll further if you don’t want to be spoiled!

I’m warning you!

A synopsis of the scene that goes along with the photo can be read here.  Again, I repeat, SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SCENE! I hope I’m not raising my expectations too much.
