Ariel Lin revealed to the press that she’s dating someone. Now that’s something you don’t admit everyday. She won’t reveal his identity but only says that he is a “big help to her acting and singing career.” Money on the manager? Anyone?
She was actually attending a press conference for Taiwan Organ Registry and Sharing Center, of which she is an ambassador.
Lee Seo Jin will be coming back from his extended break and will sign on to Hook Entertainment, which is the same agency that manages Lee Seung Gi. While I don’t like him too much, I have to say I did enjoy his performance in Hon. Soooo – here’s to seeing what he’ll do next.
It’s official: Park Jaebeom, Jang Hyuk, and Kim Sa Rang have all pulled out of Secret Garden. Or, in Jaebeom’s case, he’s just not going to be in it. All of them are under Sidus HQ, and the article makes it seem as though Jang and Kim pulled out after Jaebeom’s casting negotiations fell through. I don’t really believe that – I think it’s one of two options:
- They pulled out because Sidus HQ made them pull out. Sidus HQ was trying to get three of its stars in one drama and it just didn’t work out that way.
- Jang and Kim pulled out of their own accord because they didn’t want to base their careers all on this one kid who has little acting experience.
A new group is debuting, called F1rst , and is comprised of 8 members. So what makes it different? It’s a co-ed group – 4 girls and 4 guys. WHOAAAA – KOREA, YOU JUST BLEW MY BRAINS OUT!
(If you couldn’t read the sarcasm in that, well, then… this parenthetical aside should clue you in.) Here’s their first single “You Like Me, I Like You,” which is a remake of the 1980s version. Not too bad, but not too outstanding.
SNSD came out with a PV for their Japanese version of “Genie.” Is it just me, or are you supposed to just be staring at their legs? Because that’s all I can see whenever they perform. I like the Japanese music video better – it feels more substantial…
The “new” Hallyu stars are going to be in one special drama called “Haru.” The drama is being produced by the Korean National Tourism Organization and is meant to show off how great Korea is for tourism. It will star Lee Da Hae, Kim Bum, Big Bang, Yunho, Park Shi Hoo (!), and Han Chae Young. (Now you see why I said “new”? These are all big stars, but more because they’ve had hits in the past year or two. If we were going to talk “Hallyu Stars” my first thought goes to the original gang: Song Seung Hoon, Bae Yong Joon, Choi Ji Woo, Song Hye Gyo, Jang Dong Gun, Won Bin, etc.) The drama comes out in September.
And here are some photos from the press conference for Playful Kiss! The cast photo, from left to right, is Jung Hye Young, Kim Hyun Joong, Jung So Min, Lee Tae Sung, and Lee Si Young.
